Freshdesk and ClickUp: Track Tickets as Tasks Without Double Entry

ClickUp has a native Freshdesk Sync, labelled beta, for Business Plus and Enterprise plans. It creates tasks for tickets in a dedicated Space and syncs updates both ways, and access is requested through a form in the App Center. This guide covers what it maps and the configuration we build around it.

What ClickUp Does Today

What You Can Do Natively

Start with the features available on your ClickUp plan.

Freshdesk Sync

A native integration, labelled beta, that creates ClickUp tasks for Freshdesk tickets in a dedicated Space and syncs updates in both directions.

Mapped Fields

Subject becomes the task name, and Status, Description, Priority, ID, URL and Due date are mapped.

Plans and Setup

Listed for Business Plus and Enterprise, set up by owners and admins with a Freshdesk API key and helpdesk name. Access is requested through the App Center form.

Alternatives

A paid Freshdesk Marketplace app lets agents create and link tasks from tickets, and Zapier and similar tools cover simple flows.

Where It Falls Short

The Gaps People Run Into

If these are your problem, keep reading.

  • Access depends on the beta being granted to your Workspace.
  • A busy helpdesk can create a large number of tasks, so plan the Space, views and filters before switching it on.
  • Status mapping between a helpdesk and a task board needs decisions, because they describe different work.
  • We test comment and attachment behaviour for your setup rather than assume it.
  • Marketplace apps and automation tools add cost and need to be reviewed as vendors.
