Salesforce and ClickUp: What the Native Sync Does and Where to Go Further

ClickUp has a native Salesforce Sync, labelled beta, available on Business Plus and Enterprise plans. It syncs Accounts and Opportunities to tasks and is two-way for names and opportunity status. Other fields are written into the task description, not mapped to custom fields. This guide shows what that covers and the configuration we build when you need more.

What ClickUp Does Today

What You Can Do Natively

Start with the features available on your ClickUp plan.

Salesforce Sync

A native integration that turns Salesforce Accounts and Opportunities into tasks in a ClickUp Space. It is labelled beta, so check its current status.

Two-Way Where It Counts

Account names, opportunity names and opportunity status sync both ways. Accounts sync only when related to an opportunity.

Plans and Setup

Available on Business Plus and Enterprise, set up by a Workspace owner or admin. The ClickUp login email must match a Salesforce user with the right permissions.

Connected Search

A separate Salesforce Connected Search integration lets you search Salesforce from ClickUp. It is a search tool, not a data sync.

Where It Falls Short

The Gaps People Run Into

If these are your problem, keep reading.

  • Other account and opportunity fields land in the task description as text, not in structured custom fields, so you cannot filter or report on them in ClickUp.
  • There is no mapping for contacts, cases or your own custom Salesforce fields.
  • It is beta, so behaviour, scope and limits may change.
  • Sync timing and what happens to deleted records should be tested before you rely on them.
  • Richer syncs usually need a paid third party such as Unito, or custom work using the Salesforce and ClickUp APIs.
