Shopify and ClickUp: Turn Orders into Tasks Your Team Can Finish

ClickUp has no native Shopify integration, and users have requested one on ClickUp feedback. Orders reach ClickUp through automation tools such as Zapier, through apps in the Shopify App Store, or through Shopify webhooks calling the ClickUp API. This guide shows what each route does and the fulfilment configuration we build and monitor.

What ClickUp Does Today

What You Can Do Natively

Start with the features available on your ClickUp plan.

No Native Integration

Shopify is not a native ClickUp integration. A request for one is open on ClickUp feedback.

Automation Tools

Zapier, MESA and similar tools create a ClickUp task when a Shopify order is created. They bill by their own plans, per task or per run.

Shopify Apps

Apps in the Shopify App Store can sync orders to ClickUp tasks, typically one way. Treat newer apps as a vendor decision and review them carefully.

Webhooks and API

Shopify webhooks, such as order created and order paid, can call an endpoint that creates ClickUp tasks through the ClickUp API.

Where It Falls Short

The Gaps People Run Into

If these are your problem, keep reading.

  • Syncs are usually one way from Shopify to ClickUp. Changes made in ClickUp do not write back to the order.
  • Refunds, cancellations and edits need rules so the task reflects the order, not just its first state.
  • Duplicate tasks are possible when a flow retries or a webhook is delivered twice.
  • Per-order or per-task pricing grows with volume, and a sale can multiply your automation costs.
  • Order data such as line items and addresses needs mapping to fields or a description, and the right level of detail depends on who fulfils the order.

FAQ

Common Questions

Not here? Ask us.

Does ClickUp integrate with Shopify?

Not natively. Orders reach ClickUp through Zapier, MESA or similar tools, Shopify apps, or custom webhooks.

Can a Shopify order create a ClickUp task?

Yes, through any of those routes.

Does the task update when the order is paid, fulfilled or refunded?

It can, if the route is built to handle those events. We map each event to a status.

Is the sync two-way?

Usually not. Syncs typically run from Shopify to ClickUp only.

How do you avoid duplicate tasks?

By storing the Shopify order ID on the task and checking it before creating a new one.

When is a custom build better?

When volume makes per-order fees high, or you need exact lifecycle rules and de-duplication.
