ClickUp Bug Triage: Get the Right Bugs to the Right Engineers, Fast

Bugs get lost between support and engineering. In ClickUp a triage flow can connect them: a bug Form or a helpdesk escalation creates the task, a triage board sets severity and owner, sprints carry the fix and a follow-up closes the loop with the customer. This guide shows how the helpdesk, sprint and integration setups combine into one flow.

What ClickUp Does Today

What You Can Do Natively

Start with the features available on your ClickUp plan.

Intake

Bugs arrive from a Form, from a helpdesk app such as the Zendesk, Intercom or Freshdesk integrations, or from a chat message.

Triage Board

A Board of Needs Triage, Confirmed, Planned, In Progress, In Review and Released shows every bug and who owns it.

Sprints and Code Links

Fixes move into sprints, and pull requests link to tasks by ID. See the sprint guide and the GitHub and GitLab guide.

Reporting

Dashboards show open bugs by severity and age, with Time in Status on Business and above.

Where It Falls Short

The Gaps People Run Into

If these are your problem, keep reading.

  • ClickUp has no native SLA feature, so fix targets are built from due dates, priorities and automations.
  • Customers do not see bug status unless you build a return path, so the follow-up step needs an owner.
  • Duplicate bug reports need a rule, such as linking duplicates to one parent task.
  • Severity needs an agreed definition, or every bug is urgent.
  • Integrations are agent-driven or beta in places, so test the flow end to end.

FAQ

Common Questions

Not here? Ask us.

How do bugs get from support to engineering?

Through a Form or a helpdesk integration that creates a task in a triage List, then a triage meeting sets severity and owner.

Does ClickUp have SLAs?

There is no native SLA feature. Targets come from due dates, priorities and automations. See our helpdesk guide.

How do we handle duplicate bugs?

Link duplicates to one parent task so the count and the fix stay in one place.

How does the customer find out a fix shipped?

Through a follow-up step we build, such as a notification to the support owner or a flow back to the helpdesk.

Can developers link pull requests?

Yes. See our GitHub and GitLab guide.

Can you build this for us?

Yes. We build and test it end to end.
